From here to there...

There is something about the water that speaks to my soul.  It just does.  I remember when I was in high school and needing alot of rest, I would come home from school and lay on the lounge chair and sleep by the canal.  The Gulf of Mexico rushing into the canal behing my house.  It was warm and the rushing water soothed my teenage soul.  I am lucky to be able to experience that feeling again...

I can safely say that the rushing water also soothes my middle aged soul.  I love the water, the smell of the salt in the air and the thickness of it.  I love the anticipation of the time in the water...visiting with my family and feeling the feelings associated with them.

I pulled up to the house and I was greeted by a big glass of white zin with ice and some big hugs.  I walked into the house where chips and guacamole waited.  I felt like a queen.  I hugged both sisters, kissed each one on the cheek and sat down.   The sky was blue and the water was sparkling and I felt my tense body relax.  I took a sip of that pink sugary zinfandel and smiled as I sat at my sister's table.  "Terrys here...Oh, you look good...you don't look heavy.  Your hair looks great...you look good too."  The familiar "joyisms" were taking place.  It made my heart sing.

After a great dinner and a night in the hot tub, I am going to bed.  I can say that while I ran so far from the family when I was younger...I am so glad to be home...to be by the water and the be alone with just my sisters and me...no husband and no kids.  This time is a gift and I will not take a moment for granted...

We'll tawk later,
I love you all,
Terry

Hi Terry,
I have to say that your blog is becoming one of my favorites. I enjoy reading about your teen kids--it helps to laugh and nod and learn. Also, your interactions with your husband. I loved your last post about looking forward to being with your sisters. I don't have that in my family of origin, but I have a bunch of sister in laws in Florida and it is so wonderful going there for some girl time.
Enjoy them and that sun and sea!
